He earned a Bachelor's of Science degree in Psychology and a Master’s of Science degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Cal State University, Los Angeles. He obtained his PhD. in Clinical Psychology from Cambridge School of Professional Psychology.
Dr. Villamarin has been in the field of mental health since 1975 as a therapist, program director, clinical supervisor and in management. He began his private practice in Marriage and Family Therapy in 1981 where he continues to this date. He is a bilingual/bicultural psychotherapist, who has assisted individuals from all over the world.
Being mindful and service oriented, he is an agent of transformational change, which has been one of his main driving forces behind his practice. His clients publicly report that they are treated with respect and dignity. They feel understood, encouraged and empowered to pursue their innate potential. A thriving part of Dr. Villamarin’s practice includes Forensic Services, where he is an expert in the field. He conducts psychological evaluations in criminal and immigration law. He routinely testifies as an expert witness in the forensic field.
Dr. Villamarin also entered the media world, starting as a talk show radio host, producer, and guest. He appears in local and national television as a frequent guest discussing and addressing psychological issues. Many of his listeners and viewers claim profound life changes by listening to his interventions in radio, television, and private sessions.His outside interests include: Travel, Global issues, Dancing, Chess, Soccer. Philanthropy and is a devoted father.
